Learn how to install a shade sail in your backyard, on your porch, or on your patio using DIY cable railing with my latest DIY tutorial. Many shade sails come with their own set of rope, but I decided to go with a more modern look for this install—hence the cable railing, which consists of 3mm cable, turnbuckles and crimps.
There are a hundred ways to do this. But in this video, I try to give you a few tips and tricks to make this install go much easier for you.
My biggest tip is to make sure to measure ahead of time, and to create a slope with your shade sail for rain runoff. It’s a pretty straight forward install, but if you have any questions, leave them down below and I’ll answer them as best as I can.
