The hinterland of Split Riviera is the continental part of Dalmatia. It consists of towns located mostly on rivers with
extremely rich ancient and old Croatian heritage. Sinj is a town in Croatia, which belongs to the Split-Dalmatia County. It is the center of the Cetina region. The total area is 194.27 km2. Sinj and its surroundings have 24,832 inhabitants, while the town itself has 11,448 inhabitants. Sinj is recognizable in Croatia and beyond by the Sinj Alka, a knight’s game that has been held in Sinj since the beginning of the 18th century, as a sign of victory over the Turkish invaders.
