First off, I review the purpose of a hook and talk about the importance of a first impression. In this part, I tell you the BEST time to write your hook as well! Second, I review how to start your essay off with a question that engages the reader. Third, I talk about how to describe an imaginary situation to grab the attention of your reader. Fourth, I go over how to cite a quote and I tell you a MAJOR pitfall I see students fall into all the time! Fifth, I review the start of my video to show you an example of how to start your introduction with a hook. I also provide questions to help you review, revise, and edit your hook.
