The Commonwealth Bank today become the first Australian bank to offer its customers a method of holding cryptocurrency including Bitcoin, according to Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
The bank will now allow its customer to buy, sell, and invest various cryptocurrencies and will give then a wallet in which to store the digital coins.
The bank is collaborating with Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss’ company Gemini Trust to offer this service.
It is believed Mr Winklevoss and Mr Winklevoss – most known for suing Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for intellectual property theft – have made over $1 billion from Bitcoin.
