As Well As - Advanced English Grammar

First, I’ll explain what "as well as" means. You can think of "as well as" to mean: Not only Y, but also X. With an emphasis on X.

The English sentence structure for "as well as" is X as well as Y.

Now, you need to keep in mind that "as well as" is not the same thing as "and".

The English sentence structure is the same for "as well as" and "and" but the meaning is not.

We’ll look at lots of example sentences using "as well as". And at the end I’ll give you the opportunity to practice your new expression "as well as". And you’ll also practice "and" so you can see these two expressions side by side and understand how they’re different.
